From the head of the Gorges d'Olhadubi we doubled-back on ourselves but on the north side of the gorge to meet a Pyrenean mountain dog (with shepherd), before heading back SE to skirt around Sarimendi and to the Col d'Anhaou. From there, we descended by the side of the Gorges de Kakoueta to the Commune de Ste-Engrâce, in the process having the only major argument of the trip, strangely about the possibility of a self-sufficient Mars base. But there you go...
Ste-Engrâce turned-out not to have a campsite any more, so we ended-up camping in a small patch obviously used as a parking space next to the main road. We ate at the restaurant run by the woman who had shown us the camping spot and had a drink with 'the good doctor'. He was travelling light using the Gîtes along the way - something we felt, as backpackers, was tantamount to cheating but we forgave him anyway.
