We set-off finding that the mist had gone, waving good-bye to what was to be our last sighting of Neil and Tita['s tent] and headed up the side of Iraukotuturru. We stopped to find that my sun-tan lotion had 'exploded', presumably due to the low air pressure at that height. At this moment 'freaky bloke' appeared, concerned that something had exploded, but we explained (he was English) that it hadn't really. He was actually a nice bloke and was renamed 'the good doctor' after a while (2.5 days) when he bought us a drink in Ste-Engrâce.
Mist had accumulated on the top of Sommet d'Occabé, necessitating a rare use of the compass (the good doctor having checked we were adequately equiped with one). Descending to Châlet Pedro was through a logging minefield, but the weather improved and was quickly too hot in the valley. Châlet Pedro seemed incredibly busy, with at least 20 people in view at the same time. Following the GR10 to the Col d'Orgambideska we found that we would have to walk about halfway back to Châlet Pedro and down a steep hairpinned road to the nearest campsite and that the last hill had been totally unnecessary, still it had given some good views.
